Stop! Just stop, Joe! You're embarrassing us!

Robert Greenwald and his Brave New Films have started an online petition to have Joe Lieberman stripped of his chairmanship of Homeland Security. So far 20,325 have signed to remove this blight. Feel free to do so, too!
The CFL Party was started by Sen. Lieberman after he lost the Democratic primary to Ned Lamont. The Senator neglected to join his party, and the wiley Prof. John Orman took it over. I was elected Secretary, and with our other members, we used the party as a vehicle to hold Joe accountable.
The Senator visits Fairfield University, and embarrasses Connecticut again. WTF?$@!??
To separate religious faith from American public life is unnatural, U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman, an Orthodox Jew, told a largely Roman Catholic student audience Friday at Fairfield University.
"Faith is part of our strength," he said. Lieberman also told students he is thrilled about having an audience with the pope and defended the continued American role in Iraq after nearly five years of bloodshed.
This Joe Lieberman?
THIS one??? The one who said of John Hagee, the man who believes Katrina was God's revenge?
Fortunately, you here tonight know that evil will not prevail if good people act. And I know you will not allow Iran and Al Qaeda to triumph over America and Israel.
What religion is he talking about?
John Mertens has agreed to become the new chair of the Connecticut for Lieberman Party.

The Connecticut for Lieberman Party is holding a statewide party meeting to nominate candidates for office on March 6, 2008 at 6:30 PM at 243 Zion Street in Hartford, Connecticut.
All registered members are invited. We will be electing new officers, and voting on new party rules. Here is the link for the Official Connecticut for Lieberman Party Website/Blog.
Hope everyone can make it!

Thanks to Governor Jodi Rell, minor parties can now cross endorse candidates. The CFL Party is proud to announce that our first endorsement is for Chris Dodd of Connecticut.

Here is the response from the Connecticut for Lieberman Party Chair, John Orman:
Lieberman Lies to Secretary of State and Citizens of Connecticut Again
(Shown here with Jane Hamsher)
Update from the Stamford Times, which notes that Joe's wife and daughter registered as unaffiliated.
Secretary of State, Susan Bysiewicz will be live blogging tonight at Myleftnutmeg.com from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. We will be asking her about:
• New voting machines
• Training for registrars
• Municipal elections
• Presidential election calender
However, there is one question that haunts me.
Why did she choose not to investigate Joe Lieberman's illegal petition?
Joseph2008.com was uncovered by the great detective work of tparty at Myleftnutmeg.com
Gag me with a spoon.
So it looks like filing a false petition and misleading the voters that you will join your own party are all legit in Connecticut, according to secretary of state Susan Bysiewicz.
"Believe me, I know there are people who feel very frustrated with Senator Lieberman's choices because we hear from them every day in our office," Bysiewicz said Wednesday. But "the next time people will have the opportunity to opine on Mr. Lieberman's candidacy will be in 2012."
Nobody wants the soldiers home more than Joe, either. But how many soldiers will die in the next five years while our Senator pounds the war drum?
John Orman, Elected Chair of the CFL Party wants to know what happens when a candidate doesn't join the party he is elected under.
Update: see article in the Stamford Advocate
First, Joe had to step over a prostrate protester in his office to get to work:
"Would someone please, please give me some water?" whimpered the fainting Code Pink demonstrator.
"Get that damned woman out of my way!" roared the impatient Senator. "I have to give another press conference - to let everyone know that things are going beautifully in Iraq!"

in the magazine section tomorrow, by none other than Jeff Gerth.
According to Gerth, there is more to her "I take responsibility for my vote" and the excuse that Bush had misused Congressional authority because they acted "without allowing the inspectors to finish the job in the rush to war."
An interesting read, if Gerth can back it up.

This week our 'priority' school received a second visit from a representative of Cambridge Education, who had flown all the way over from England to finalize a report concerning the progress we've made in two years.
Once again he asked me what money I had received for materials (zero), what support we've had for the expected influx of special education students as a result of the upcoming shutdown of self-contained classes (zip), and other prying questions.
He was impressed that I had found a Hooked on Phonics kit at the Goodwill and installed it in a 5th grade class for a few non-readers. He liked the set of pre-primer books I had grabbed before our reading department tossed them out. Necessity breeds creativity.
So, where was Senator Lieberman during all of this?
Ten miles away, waxing grandiloquently on education!!!!!
